Gluten Free French Toast Sometimes you just want something decadent for breakfast and this french toast recipe is just the thing. It’s super easy and you can use any of your favourite bread to make it, so it’s a great way to use up those leftover slices. I used sourdough but Promise brioche makes for an extra treat. This recipe serves approx 2 servings. WHAT YOU NEED:For the French toast Slice of Bread (of your preference)2x EggsDash of milkTbs Cinnamon (Optional)Tsp Vanilla EssenceNuts (Optional)Icing Sugar (Optional) For the banana ice cream 🍌🍦 2x frozen bananasTbs Chia Seeds (Optional)Dash of almond milk WHAT TO DO:1️⃣ Whisk your eggs, milk, cinnamon and vanilla in a bowl and pour into a shallow dish. Take your slices of bread and cover both sides in the mixture.2️⃣ Place the slice of egg coated bread in a lightly greased frying pan and fry on a low heat. Cook until both sides are browned. (💡Tip: I like to add nuts to the pan for a few seconds to toast lightly)3️⃣ Remove from the pan and dust with icing sugar and the toasted nuts.4️⃣ For your banana ice-cream blend your frozen bananas, almond milk and chia seeds in a blender and serve with the French toast immediately.And viola – French toast with no added sugar👌I love to see your creations so don’t forget to tag @thehalfdutchcookie 🙌 For a vegan alternative I recommend trying whipped aquafaba (chickpea water) for the French toast mixture!
